‘Paint your house buddy’: Police called after tense exchange between Cleveland Heights mayor and his neighbor, a judge

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio – An April altercation between Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge David Matia and Cleveland Heights Mayor Kahlil Seren – who are neighbors – ended with Matia calling police and Seren being warned that he could be arrested for trespassing.

Matia yelled at Seren’s wife, Natalie McDaniel, as he drove by the couple’s house on April 23, according to police body camera video released by the city. The home’s exterior paint is peeling in several spots and, when Matia saw McDaniel standing outside, he yelled for her to fix the home.

“It was not the most diplomatic moment of my life,” Matia told cleveland.com in a phone interview…
