More than 40,000 Summit County residents without power amid storms: FirstEnergy

SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio (WJW) – Tens of thousands of Northeast Ohio residents are left in the dark Friday night as storms carrying strong winds sweep through the region.

According to FirstEnergy, as of midnight, more than 41,000 customers are without power in Summit County alone. Power isn’t expected to return for most residents until 3 a.m.

Local law enforcement raids net large amount of guns, drugs and cash

More than 11,000 Stark County customers, more than 7,200 Portage County customers and more than 4,000 Wayne County customers are also dealing with the outage. Other local counties have thousands of residents without power as well.
