Ohio EMA provides tips on how to prepare for and survive a power outage during a heat wave

The sun has been relentless in recent days, with the heat wave wreaking havoc on Summit County residents and electrical equipment.

Thousands of Goodyear Heights residents were forced to spend hours in the darkness June 23 as the heat shut down an area transformer, FirstEnergy reported. That means thousands of people were also without air conditioning during what has been some of the hottest days of the year so far.
