AKRON, Ohio — The Summit County Transportation Improvement District has been awarded a total of $550,000 for two separate projects that will support infrastructure in Stow and at the Akron-Canton Airport, County Executive Ilene Shapiro announced Wednesday.

- $300,000 will go to the city of Stow for improvements at an intersection
- The other $250,000 will go to Akron-Canton Airport to construct an access road
- Since 2015, the Summit County Executive’s Office has secured $4.6 million for 19 local projects.
Shapiro said it’s the county’s fourth year in a row receiving a Transportation Improvement District award, but it’s the first year it’s receiving two awards for two projects.
