CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Brandon King, the former mayor of East Cleveland, was sentenced Wednesday by Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Judge Hollie Gallagher to three years probation and 100 hours of community service.
King must also pay $27,000 in restitution and is banned from serving in an elected position.
On May 29, a jury found King guilty of the following charges:
- One count of theft in office
- Four counts of unlawful interest in a public contract
- Three counts of misrepresentation by a public employee
- One count of filing a false disclosure
- One count of soliciting improper compensation.
