AKRON, Ohio (WKRC) – An Ohio woman was convicted of starving and abusing a child last Monday.
According to WOIO, citing prosecutors, 43-year-old Angela Smith was convicted of child endangering and felonious assault charges after pleading no contest, with the alleged abuse occurring between 2020 and 2024.
“No child should ever have to endure what this young boy went through. Protecting children requires all of us, neighbors, educators, and institutions, to stay alert and act. I want to thank Summit County Children Services, the Akron Children’s Hospital staff, and the Akron Police Department for their dedicated work in ensuring this child’s safety and bringing Angela Smith to justice,” Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich said in a statement obtained by WOIO…
