GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio — The Garfield Heights Police Department released body camera footage today showing the aftermath of an armed carjacking involving a stolen Corvette on July 25th. According to the department’s statement, the suspects were found with two rifles in the vehicle. The driver was taken into custody at the scene.

“These were armed car-jackers in the Corvette they took at gunpoint. Two rifles in the back seat. Driver in custody,” the department posted alongside the video. “The job we have to do isn’t always pretty. It isn’t glamorous. It isn’t fun. It’s dangerous and it takes a toll on the men and women who do it. Talking with kids, talking with residents, helping people when they need it, that’s great. But the work in many of these videos, it sucks. But there’s a line that needs to be held and we agreed to do it. And we’ll continue to do it because the good citizens of our community like this deserve to be safe. Thanks for the fist bump sir, we got you.”

The incident occurred near East 131st Street and Harvard Avenue in Cleveland, according to community comments. Residents have praised officers for their quick response and efforts to keep the area safe…
