It was a warm summer evening in 1965 when fate stepped in at the Strongsville Homecoming and sparked a love story that would span six decades and counting.

Steve Boozer was just 14 years old when he decided to go to the carnival with his cousin Bud and Joyce from Hawks Carwash in Berea where they all worked. He had no idea he was about to meet the girl who would change his life. That same night, Ann Ferling, 15, was there to enjoy the excitement of the carnival rides, games, and festivities. Ann’s mother, Wilma Ferling, a nurse, was working the First Aid tent that week.
