I-77 reopens after power line falls on interstate

CLEVELAND (WJW) — A stretch of Interstate 77 was shut down in both directions near the Ghent Road exit in Summit County Thursday.

Authorities responded to the area shortly after reports of a possible active power line across the highway.

Construction crews were called to investigate, but officials later confirmed it was a “dead line” — no longer carrying electricity — blocking the roadway.

Crews removed the downed line from the pavement.
