Youngstown man gets 21 years to life in prison for shooting, killing Roland Williams

Roland Williams’ shooting death in the early morning hours of March 17, 2024, was more than a statistic or headline, said Shae Williams, his sister. It was a lost future.

“His daughter was his entire world. He missed her prom, her graduation and her turning 18. She deserves to have her dad by her side, to see her become the woman she is becoming,” Shae said of niece. “The pain will never go away. We are serving a life sentence without him.”

She spoke at the 33-year-old Kaylon Adam’s sentencing hearing on Aug. 20 in Summit County Common Pleas Court. Adams pleaded guilty to killing Roland two hours before attorneys were set to select a jury for his murder trial…
