Man serving sentence for shooting death in Youngstown pleads guilty to Akron murder

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — A city man sentenced to prison earlier this year in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court for a shooting death here pleaded guilty Wednesday in Summit County Common Pleas Court to a shooting death in Akron.

Kaylon Adams, 31, pleaded guilty to charges of murder and being a felon in possession for the March 2024 shooting death of a man outside an Akron bar.

Adams will serve a sentence of 15 years to life in prison on the murder charge, plus three years for a firearm specification, as well as three years for the weapons charge, making him eligible for parole after 21 years in prison, a news release from the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office said…
