BROADVIEW HTS, OH August 21 – August 24 is Ukrainian Independence Day. Slavic Full Gospel Church (SFGC) in Broadview Heights is calling on Christians everywhere in the U.S. to lift their voices in united prayer on that day for the people of Ukraine, praying for peace, freedom, restoration, and God’s hand upon the nation.
SFGC has sent 57 shipping containers stuffed with emergency food, clothing, medical supplies, and other necessities to the people of Ukraine since Russia’s brutal invasion began in February 2024. It has also spent millions of dollars to provide relief supplies, and its members have sponsored hundreds of refugees fleeing the war.,
The church will hold prayers for Ukraine, its people, and peace at its services on Sunday, (August 24) at the 9 am (Ukrainian language) and 11:30 am (English language) services. The church is located at 5851 E. Wallings Road.
“2 Chronicles 7:14 reminds us that, “If my people, who are called by name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land,” says Roman Skalsky, deacon at Slavic Full Gospel Church. “We are asking all area believers to stand with us on this day of prayer, to show Ukraine that they are not forgotten, and that members of the body of Christ around the world are interceding for Ukraine.”…
