The Akron City Festival is back for the third year, and this one should be special since the city is celebrating its bicentennial all year, with a parade kicking things into high gear at 1pm. The family-friendly festival also celebrates the start of the new school year.
Once again, it takes place in downtown Akton at Lock 3, with all kinds of special activities and entertainment including live music, a DJ, magic, talent, cheer and fashion shows, an outdoor basketball court, bounce houses, gaming trucks, balloon artists, face painting for the kids, and barbers, nail techs and henna artists for all. There’ll also be tables with information for young people from community-oriented nonprofits and the Akron Public Schools. Of course, there’ll be food trucks. Growing kids gotta eat!…
