Man wanted on felony charges in Ohio captured after chase into West Virginia

HANCOCK COUNTY, W.Va. (WTRF) — A man wanted on multiple felony charges in Ohio was arrested Sunday night after a high-speed chase that began in Columbiana County, Ohio, and ended in Chester, W.Va., according to the Chester Police Department.

Deputies with the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office and an East Liverpool police officer attempted to stop a Mercedes on State Route 39 in East Liverpool at about 7:15 p.m. The vehicle matched a description from the Massillon Police Department for a wanted suspect and had been reported stolen.

The driver, Van Keith Jones II, 41, of Massillon, Ohio, was wanted on several felony charges including robbery, strangulation, intimidation of a witness, violation of a protection order, theft and domestic violence.

Police said Jones also had made suicidal and homicidal threats and was believed to be armed…
