PHOTOS: Medina County barn fire takes hours to put out

WADSWORTH TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WJW) — No animals were injured in a fully-engulfing barn fire that sent flames and smoke high into the sky Tuesday, the Wadsworth Fire Department said in a statement.

Fire causes house roof to collapse in Summit County

Firefighters from multiple jurisdictions were called to the 10000 block of Silvercreek Road in Wadsworth Township after the fire had broken out at a 5,000-square-foot barn around 4:30 p.m.

It reportedly took firefighters about six hours to put the fire out. Only one horse was in the barn at the time of the fire and it was removed safely. A bystander twisted their ankle at the scene, but no one else was injured, the fire department said.

While the crews were working to put out the barn fire, the Wadsworth Fire Department was called to another fire at 7:25 p.m. in the township. This time, the fire was coming from a garage at a residence where no one was home. That fire was put out quickly, and no one was injured, the fire department said.
