SEVILLE, Ohio – One Northeast Ohio school district is working on a plan to reduce property taxes for district residents to help offset the impact of the projected 25% increase in property values from Medina County’s 2025 sexennial real estate reappraisal.
The Cloverleaf Board of Education is working on a plan to reduce the district’s permanent improvement levy and two emergency (fixed-dollar) levies by a total of 3.3 mills – a 58% reduction in voted property tax millage. Under the proposed plan, the board is planning to not ask taxpayers for any new funding until at least 2032, according to a district news release.
“For more than a decade, the guiding principle for us here at Cloverleaf has been, ‘promises made, promises kept,’” Board President Jason Myers said in the release. “This board has promised to support the taxpayers who support our students.
