2 suspects, including man shot by trooper after foot chase near Case Western Reserve University, indicted by grand jury

CLEVELAND — Two robbery suspects who allegedly fled from the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP), leading to one of them being shot by a trooper on the campus of Case Western Reserve University, have been indicted by a Cuyahoga County grand jury.

According to court documents, Leon Terrell, 18, who was wounded by a trooper, has been charged with the following:

  • Four counts of aggravated robbery
  • Two counts of failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer
  • One count of unlawful possession of a dangerous ordinance
  • One count of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle
  • One count of obstructing official business

All of the charges against Terrell contain either a firearms specification or a specification for forfeiture of a weapon.

Noreonna Echols, 19, was charged with the following:

  • Two counts of aggravated robbery
  • Two counts of failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer
  • One count of unlawful possession of a dangerous ordinance
  • One count of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle
