DOWNTOWN AKRON — The City of Akron is proposing to raise sewer rates for the first time in over a decade beginning next year.
During the Public Service Committee meeting Sept. 8, legislation regarding the rate changes was introduced, and members of Akron City Council heard a presentation regarding sewer rates.
Service Director Chris Ludle said the rate increases will be phased in from 2026 to 2029, as well as a fixed fee based on the size of a water meter. The city has proposed a 5.3% increase for each of the four years…
