Death of a female jail inmate now an open homicide investigation

CLEVELAND (WJW) – Cuyahoga County officials are now saying the death of a female inmate in May is an open homicide investigation.

A spokesperson for the county said no more information is available and declined to say if a suspect has been arrested or charged.

Tasha Grant, 39, was transferred from the jail to MetroHealth Medical Center on May 2. At the time, the county released a statement saying Grant was having, “complications due to preexisting medical conditions that resulted in a medical emergency.”
