Canton man appears in court after alleged abduction of woman in Jackson Township

STARK COUNTY, Ohio — A Canton man previously indicted for allegedly abducting a woman at knifepoint has entered a not guilty plea.

Jamie Triplett, 38, was indicted earlier this month by a Stark County grand jury on 10 counts, including aggravated robbery, tampering with evidence, abduction, disrupting public services, multiple counts of assault and aggravated menacing and two counts of criminal damaging. The indictment also included a repeat violent offender specification for the aggravated robbery charge.

Triplett was convicted in 2012 of rape and kidnapping and sentenced to 20 years in prison, but he was granted judicial release earlier this year and placed on probation…
