Fire departments called for explosion at oil well

SEBRING, Ohio (WKBN) — Sebring Fire Department responded to an explosion at an oil well on Saturday.

Fire Chief Michael Springer confirmed that one oil well tank battery exploded Saturday afternoon, stating it was only a quarter of the way full. It happened on Courtney Road, a little west of Johnson Road.

The dry weather caused the surrounding field to catch fire, but Chief Springer says it was all put out quickly.

Georgetown, Lexington, Deerfield, Homeworth and Alliance fire departments were on scene for additional manpower…
