Ohio man takes plea deal after 2-pound meth bust in Paintsville

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — An Ohio man who was arrested after police found more than 2 lbs. of meth in a car in which he was a passenger has indicated he is ready to enter a guilty plea.

Anttwan Dewayne Freeman, 24, of Akron, Ohio, was arrested in March of 2024 following a traffic stop in Paintsville. During the stop, police found two bags containing about a kilogram of meth hidden under the gear shift.

He was later indicted in federal court on a charge of possession of more than 500 grams of meth with the intent to distribute. That charge carries a potential sentence of anywhere between 10 years and life in prison…
