Amish man, 8-year-old attacked in Middlefield Township; arrest made

Three men from the Canton area are believed to have broken into a home in Middlefield Township, threatened and attacked a 40-year-old Amish man and his 8-year-old son before robbing the residence of up to $5,000.

During a press conference at the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office on Oct. 14, officials detailed the crime and the subsequent arrest of 33-year-old Bradford James Hosler in Stark County. Hosler was referred to as the “ringleader” of the group.

The other two suspects have not yet been taken into custody.

Geauga County Prosecutor Jim Flaisz said Hosler was arraigned and charged with three first-degree felonies — kidnapping, aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary. He is being held in the Geauga County Safety Center on a $750,000 cash bond…
