Cleveland, OH – A 34-year-old woman has been convicted of killing a 3-year-old toddler in a brutal stabbing attack in a Giant Eagle grocery store parking lot. Bionca Ellis was found guilty of all charges related to the June 3, 2024, attack, which left toddler Julian Wood dead and his mother seriously injured. The charges included aggravated murder, attempted murder, felonious assault, and endangering children, the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office announced.
The Incident: A Random and Violent Attack
On the afternoon of June 3, 2024, Margot Wood, 37, and her 3-year-old son, Julian, were shopping at a Giant Eagle supermarket in North Olmsted, a suburb of Cleveland. While they were in the store, Bionca Ellis was reportedly at a nearby Volunteers of America Thrift Store, where she stole two knives.
After leaving the store, Margot Wood and her son walked into the parking lot, completely unaware that Ellis had followed them.
