Mayor shares stats about Medina’s emergency housing shelter

MEDINA, Ohio – During a recent council meeting, Mayor Dennis Hanwell discussed the impact the newly opened emergency housing shelter has had on the community.

The Medina Metropolitan Housing Authority opened Next Step Up earlier this year on Walter Road, in the building that formerly housed MMHA’s administrative offices. The shelter offers a total of 27 beds for men, women and children and they also allow pets.

“Since February when they opened they have served 141 people plus six dogs and two cats,” Hanwell said…
