Dr. P. Cooper White, a pediatrician with more than 40 years of experience, will retire on October 31, 2025. During his career, Dr. White has worked with children who have complex medical and social needs. He has provided care for patients with chronic illnesses, developmental delays, and challenging social situations. One example is his long-term care for Tristan, a patient with cerebral palsy and multiple health issues.
Dr. White began his career serving underserved communities in Peekskill, New York, through a National Health Service Corps scholarship. He later worked in Cleveland for nearly 20 years. In 2006, he became director of Locust Pediatric Care Group in Akron. At Locust Pediatrics, he led a practice that served children with special health needs, international families, foster children, and those facing social barriers. His leadership contributed to the practice’s role as a resource for Akron’s pediatric population.
Dr. White focused on building relationships with families and worked with colleagues and community organizations.
