OSHP: Woman killed, man air-lifted to hospital in Lorain County crash

PENFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WJW) — A Lorain Country crash involving two vehicles led to the death of a woman and serious injury of a man early Saturday morning, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said in a statement.

Troopers and other first responders were called to the area of Foster Road in Penfield Township around 6:40 a.m. for reports of a crash.

The 59-year-old male driver of a Chevrolet Silverado truck was seriously injured in the crash and had to be taken via helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center for treatment. Troopers said he was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The driver of a Honda HR-V was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said. She was identified as 56-year-old Wendy Kobyluck of Orville. She was reportedly wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
