OHIO — A routine traffic stop led to the discovery of more than 48 grams of methamphetamine hidden inside a fake oil can Sunday morning, according to Springfield Township police.
Around 11:39 a.m., Officer Jon McKenzie and his K9 partner, Rex, pulled over the driver of a Dodge Ram on Massillon Road near Krumroy Road after observing multiple traffic violations.
Police said the driver, identified as 49-year-old Robert Butterbaugh of Norton, denied consent to search his vehicle. K9 Rex was then deployed for an open-air sniff and alerted to the presence of narcotics on the driver’s side of the truck…
