View beautifully decorated trees, wreaths at free Akron Children’s Holiday Tree Festival

AKRON, Ohio – Akron Children’s Hospital’s Holiday Tree Festival will return to the John S. Knight Center from Nov. 15-23 with decorated holiday trees, wreaths and decor.

It’s the 44th year the hospital has held the free event, which has become a holiday tradition for many families. The tree festival raises money for the hospital through the sale of the trees, wreaths and holiday decor. Since the event’s inception, more than $7.6 million has been raised for the hospital’s medical research, education and patient care programs, according to the release.

The festival is presented by Akron Children’s volunteers and features 153 decorated trees, 70 wreaths and 172 holiday gifts for purchase via silent auction. Decorated trees feature classic themes such as candy canes, snowmen and woodland animals, as well as odes to popular culture icons like Barbie, Charlie Brown, “The Golden Girls” and the musical “Wicked.”…
