Man in jail charged with local murder

AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – Police in Akron announced an arrest Wednesday in a murder that happened earlier this year.

Clarence Shockey, 58, was pronounced dead at the scene on April 9 near the railroad tracks on North Union Street.

His cause of death was listed as blunt force trauma and strangulation.

Wednesday, police announced David Miller, 44, is charged with murder and abuse of a corpse in Shockey’s death.
