Body cam shows Orange Village deputy police chief trying to use badge to avoid arrest

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Within seconds of being pulled over, Patrick O’Callahan flashed his badge to a North Royalton police officer.

O’Callahan, an Orange Village deputy police chief, used his badge and supposed connections to the department in a bid for leniency for what the arresting officer believed was a drunken driving charge, felony weapons violations and traffic offenses, body camera footage shows.

Though the deputy chief was unsuccessful in keeping himself out of handcuffs, he was not charged after officers found a loaded gun in his pocket and in his center console…
