AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Zoo has created a space in its Zoo Gardens for staff members who experience grief after the loss of an animal.

“Grief is a natural and important healing process, and the Akron Zoo is making space, literally and figuratively, to honor the grief experienced by our staff when we lose an animal family member,” said the zoo in a statement.
