Driver who fled officers at 129 mph, rammed apartment, injured Akron officers is sentenced to prison

AKRON, Ohio (WJW) — A man who led police officers on multiple high-speed chasesearlier this year, injuring officers in an attempt to flee, and crashed into an apartment building, using the SUV as a battering ram, will spend the next several years in prison.

A judge on Monday sentenced Mikal D. Gamble, 32, of Warrensville Heights, to 59 months in prison, according to a news release from Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich. He had pleaded guilty in September to five felony charges, including failure to comply with a police order, vandalism and inducing panic.
