Planning Commission OKs proposal for Amazon facility at former Akron Baptist Temple site

Amazon’s proposal to build a sub same-day fulfillment center at the site of the former Akron Baptist Temple and The Word Church will head to Akron City Council, although some nearby residents still have misgivings.

The Akron Planning Commission on Nov. 14 voted 5-0, with commission member Renee Greene absent, to recommend City Council approval of the roughly $33 million project on Manchester Road in the Kenmore neighborhood.
