COLUMBUS, Ohio — Nine Medicaid providers across Ohio, including two in Cleveland and one in Akron, are accused of defrauding the government health-care program out of more than $530,000, according to indictments filed by Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost.
Yost announced the charges Tuesday, saying the cases stem from investigations by his office’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.
“Cheating Medicaid earns you nothing but a court date and a criminal record,” Yost said in a statement. “We’re working hard for Ohioans to recover ill-gotten gains and bring fraudsters to justice.”…
