Wadsworth schools designated in fiscal pre-caution status

WADSWORTH — Wadsworth Schools will work on a plan to submit to the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce in response to a deficit of $6.7 million in the district’s four-year forecast.

During Monday’s Board of Education meeting, Wadsworth Superintendent Andy Hill said if the district shows a deficit in the current or two following years of the district’s four-year forecast, a plan must be created for the state department per Ohio Revised Code 5705.391.

“We’ve known that that was something that was coming based on previous forecasts,” Hill said. “We are now showing a deficit in the second year, fiscal year 2028.”…
