(WKBN) – An 18-year-old girl received her sentence for a crash that killed a 16-year-old Mahoning County Career and Technical Center (MCCTC) student.
The Deerfield girl, who was 17 at the time of the crash, received a one to 180-day sentence for the crash, as well as a 16-year suspension on her driver’s license, on Monday, according to the Portage County Prosecutor’s Office. She will also be on probation for one year and will have to complete community service work.
The girl was driving a vehicle that went off the road into a ditch along Scotts Corners Road, approximately half a mile northwest of Jones Road in Palmyra Township, around 10 p.m. on April 11.
