Investigators said the car’s owner was in town for a medical procedure and left the car with a valet near the Intercontinental Hotel.
According to the report, the teen told police that he is homeless and just started the job a month ago to try to get back on his feet. He said it was his lunch break and that he drove to a Rally’s to get some food.
When asked why he took keys to a vehicle he doesn’t own, police said the valet told officers that the Mercedes was better than his vehicle, which was a 2015 Chevy, and that he didn’t want to use his gas because he didn’t have any money.
