Second suspect held on $3M bond in deadly local Airbnb shooting

BATH TOWNSHIP, Ohio – One of the suspects in the shooting at a massive Airbnb party in Bath Township was issued a $3 million bond in court Monday morning.

Derquan Edwards, 18, is one of three suspects behind bars for the shooting that killed an 18-year-old. He appeared via video for arraignment in Akron Municipal Court after being arrested in New Philadelphia.

Police said Edwards, Jashwan Stewart, 19, and a third suspect, who is just sixteen years old, are all responsible for the mass shooting that took place at an Airbnb in Bath Township on Nov. 2.

Elijah Wells, 18, was killed after being shot multiple times while attending a party at the short-term rental home. Nine people were injured in this mass shooting, and seven of them are teenagers.

Stewart was arraigned Saturday on charges of murder and felonious assault. The judge issued him a $3 million bond and put him on house arrest with a GPS tracker, if he can make the 10% bail…
