AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – A scam advisory was issued out of Summit County involving fake arrest warrants, which is similar to an already known jury duty scam.
“He received a phone call indicating he was subpoenaed to testify as a witness in a case and he failed to appear and that there was a warrant for his arrest,” said Summit County Common Pleas Court Administrative Judge Alison McCarty.
The victim, Chris Wood, was at work when he received the urgent phone call.
