The annual Evening in the Village event will be held in downtown Hartville on Sunday, Dec. 7. Mayor Cynthia Billings reminded council at its Nov. 24 meeting of the various activities planned, beginning with Santa Claus arriving on a fire truck, followed by lighting the village Christmas tree. Shops will be open, and local choirs and musicians will perform. There will be a cookie contest, a tree and basket silent auction, wagon rides, a coloring contest and other activities for children.
