An Akron Public Schools student just lived out a dream on national television.
Firestone CLC senior Troy Weiss, an aspiring fashion designer, appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show last week, and walked right into a surprise meeting with one of his biggest heroes: Oscar-winning costume designer Paul Tazewell, an Akron native known for Wicked, Hamilton, The Color Purple, and more.
Troy thought he was simply invited to talk about his love of fashion during the show’s Wicked-themed episode. Producers flew him and his mother to New York, and he showed up in full Wicked-inspired colors — confident, charismatic, and completely in his element…
