Police: Cleveland man steals ambulance at Marymount Hospital, causes rollover crash

GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio (WJW) — A 53-year-old Cleveland man is behind bars after allegedly stealing an ambulance outside Marymount Hospital and causing a rollover crash.

No patients were on board at the time, according to a Monday Facebook post from Garfield Heights police.

Garfield Heights police just after 10 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30, responded to the Cleveland Clinic hospital along McCracken Road to help clinic police at the crash scene, police said.

Officers learned the suspect had stolen the Midwest Medical ambulance near the emergency room, but crashed into a light pole in an attempt to flee.
