Hundreds of schools closed; snow emergencies issued in multiple counties

As expected, we got more snowfall early Tuesday, and it’s having an impact.

Roads

Freeways are slow this morning, and many cities have instituted parking bans.

  • Ashland County has issued a Level 2 Snow Emergency. “Roads are snow-covered and hazardous. Bridges and roads may be icy. Allow extra time for travel and extra distance for stopping. Avoid the snowplows, and please buckle up.”
  • Erie County is under a Level 1 Snow Emergency. Drive with caution.
  • Holmes County has issued a Level 2 Snow Emergency. Only necessary travel is recommended—if you don’t have to be on the roads this morning, stay home.
  • Lorain County has issued a Level 1 Snow Emergency. Drive cautiously.
  • Portage County has issued a Level 1 Snow Emergency. Use caution while driving. Allow extra travel time.
  • Wayne County has issued a Level 1 Snow Emergency. Drive safe.
