DOWNTOWN AKRON — Summit County Council Nov. 24 authorized to advertise for bids for multiple pieces of equipment for various jurisdiction and special operations teams for an estimated total amount of $297,600.
Faylin Thurn, senior administrator for the Department of Public Safety, said the department is expected to go out to bid for two SWAT regional projects for five teams. She said three teams are receiving SWAT tactical robots and two teams will receive night vision projects.
