BARBERTON, Ohio (WJW) – A 73-year-old Barberton man was found dead in the living room of an upstairs apartment after a fire broke out late Wednesday night.
According to the city’s fire department, crews were called to the 100 block of 16th Street Northwest, shortly before midnight, for reports of smoke and flames coming from the second story of Shannon Bar.

Firefighters were told victims may be trapped inside, according to a media release.
Officials said one victim was found outside and transported to Barberton Hospital by the New Franklin Fire Department. Another victim was later found deceased within the structure.
The victim was later identified as Danny Jenkins, 73, of Barberton. According to the Summit County Medical Examiner, Jenkins was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:30 a.m…
