The Garfield Heights Police Department has cause for celebration as Lieutenant Matthew Berdysz has completed the esteemed FBI National Academy program, becoming one of the select fewer than 1% of law enforcement officers nationwide to do so. The National Academy’s 10-week Police Leadership program, held in Quantico, VA, culminated for Berdysz on Thursday, December 11, according to a social media post from the department.
Held at a premier training facility, the FBI National Academy is recognized as the pinnacle of law enforcement instruction, imbuing its graduates with advanced communication, leadership, and fitness training. Attending the program in the footsteps of his colleagues, Lt. Berdysz was distinguished by the rare honor only afforded to the top echelon of law enforcement professionals.
