State seeking applicants for broadband infrastructure expansion project

COLUMBUS — The Ohio Dep artment of Development’s BroadbandOhio office today announced that they will soon accept proposals for a project that will make bringing high-speed internet access in northern Ohio easier and more cost-effective.

BroadbandOhio is releasing a Request for Proposals for a U.S. Route 30 Middle-Mile Infrastructure Project to build a fiber network eastward from Mansfield to Canton and westward from Mansfield to Lima. Internet service providers use middle-mile infrastructure to connect people to the servers and websites they want to access.
