A local non-profit, Abby’s Helping Hands, Hopeful Hearts, delivered a large collection of Christmas gifts, clothing, and essential items to 10 APS families this week—supporting about 60 students and family members across the school community.
The organization, founded by Abigail Spraggins, a longtime Akron resident and CEO/founder of the non-profit, works with APS Family Liaisons to quietly identify families facing financial hardship during the holidays.
This year’s deliveries included new coats, shoes, hats, and gloves, plus big wish-list items like bikes, tablets, basketball hoops, and toys. The group also increased its reach from 8 families last year to 10 families this year…
