OHIO — Three children were taken into custody after allegedly stealing a car, leading police on a short pursuit, and crashing into a home in Newburgh Heights, according to authorities.
Police said officers began pursuing the vehicle on Harvard Avenue as it crossed the Denison Bridge. The chase ended a short time later when the car crashed into a residence in Newburgh Heights, causing what police described as minor damage to the home.
Officers said three children inside the vehicle — ages 8, 11, and 12 — ran from the scene following the crash but were quickly apprehended. Police reported that the 8-year-old and 11-year-old are brothers and that the 11-year-old was driving at the time of the pursuit.
